La Quinta's NEW spot; The Wine Bar.

Via Kimberley Kelly (HK Lane Real Estate Co.):

La Quinta's NEW spot; The Wine Bar.  I love Old Town La Quinta, but I noticed last season that there wasn't any music!  What??  There is now, and I am told there will be more this season.

The Wine Bar in Old Town is fabulous.  It is owned and run by a very intense fella, Justin, who closed up his wine bar in Palm Desert on El Paseo to focus entirely on his wine bar in Old Town, La Quinta.  It has paid off.  In the middle of August, I stopped in for a glass of wine and some apps and was pleasantly surprised to see a duo setting up to perform.  Turns out, that was their intro and it went over so big, that they are  now playing at the Wine Bar every Friday and Sat. pm.

Joanne, the singer, sounds a bit like Sheryl Crow..throaty and sultry, but what a strong voice!  She adds some excitement to the bar, which has indoor/outdoor seating and is across from Devane's in case you want to have a heavier meal and then come on over.

The Wine Bar features an entire room of wine selections with Justins' expert advice to guide you, and you can even buy a bottle, take it to the bar area and uncork!  Fabulous small appetizers..my favorite is the fig pizza.

Stop by and give Justin a shout out..he'll appreciate it and you'll enjoy..

Making utility boxes beautiful in La Quinta, California

Via The Lori Bowers Group:

Everyone knows what an eyesore utility boxes are, but they are necessay as we all need electricity so we live with them.  The city of La Quinta has decided to hire an artist named Julie Kirk to turn these boxes into a masterpiece.  Each utility box is in the process of being painted with the theme of La Quinta in mind.  Mountain scenes, desert scenes, wildflowers and more.  I happened to pass one on my way to work today and wow do they look nice.  No longer an eyesore, but something to gaze upon as art.  Once again, I am grateful to be able to work and live in La Quinta.  Thank you La Quinta and Julie Kirk.

What types of things does your city do to make the area more enticing?

Old Town La Quinta☼ Work there, live there, play there!

I live near Old Town La Quinta, and work in Old Town La Quinta, and love to shop, eat, drink and play there!  This part of the desert  is becoming a destination to rival the old Palm Springs, the foot traffic of El Paseo, the dining of the old restaurant row in Rancho Mirage--- Old Town La Quinta has charm and community.  Young people are finding it and making it a vibrant place--- and the locals are supporting it.  I love Old Town-- and the people we meet there.  From the Old Town Cellar to Devane's and Hog 's Breath... Palmers, Stuft Pizza, Solano Bistro, and all the other merchants!

real estate companies move within 1 block of our office in Old Town La Quinta

Via The Lori Bowers Group:

We moved our office to a sleepy little village area in La Quinta, California called Old Town La Quinta about 3 years ago. There was one other real estate office in the area of about 1000 sq. ft. Since then, we have real estate row. The landlord finally gave us a larger space since 2 large companies in our area took major space in the center. There are 12+ companies within a 2 block area. The center is mainly restaurants, Small boutiques, and other professional offices. We think these real estate offices want to be here as we are the best small real estate company in our are with the highest number of units per agent. They are thinking our business is coming from walk ins which in reality it is coming from our past client base and our other forms of lead generations done daily. Also, we work everyday from sunrise to sunset. We do not care that there are so many companies around except there is very limited parking for anyone. We figure there is plenty of
business for everyone. Plus, our service and quality speaks for itself. We take it as a compliment that so many real estate companies want to copy us.
How many of you have lots of other real estate offices so close to yours? How does it work for you and your company? Are there title and escrow companies nearby too?
